Cynthia Salomonson
Cynthia SalomonsonArtistic Director
Director of Cantabile

Cynthia Salomonson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from California State University, Fresno in the area of vocal performance with a choral conducting emphasis, as well as has received a certification in Kodaly Level 1. Mrs. Salomonson has taught children's choirs in public schools and private organizations throughout the central valley for over twenty-five years. She is currently an elementary music specialist with Clovis Unified School District and was the Associate Director and Administrator of the Central California Children's Choir for seven years. Mrs. Salomonson's professional affiliations include the American Choral Directors Association, California Choral Directors Association, National Association for Music Education, American Orff-Schulwerk Association, and the Organization of Kodaly Educators.

Tami SpurgeonTami Spurgeon
Associate Director
Director of Vivace and Youth Chorale

Tamara Spurgeon holds a B.A. in Music from San Jose State University and studied under the direction of Dr. Charlene Archibeque. Ms. Spurgeon is the Choral Director at Clark Intermediate School in Clovis Unified School District and over the past 28 years has previously taught Kindermusik, as well as elementary and middle school in both California and North Carolina. Her choirs have consistently received Command Performance ratings and Choir of Excellence distinctions, as well as performed at a state conference for the Music Educators Association and a Western Division Conference for the American Choral Director’s Association. Ms. Spurgeon says she teaches because, “I enjoy setting high expectations for my students and I am proud when they reach them. I love making beautiful music with these young voices. My student’s inspire me!”

Sarah GriffinSarah Griffin
Associate Director
Director of Prima Voce

Sarah Griffin directs our youngest choir, Prima Voce. She has had extensive experience directing Children's and Church Choirs, as well as being a Music Docent for Sylvan Unified School District. Mrs. Griffin holds a Bachelor of Science in Management, with a co-emphasis in International-Marketing from BYU, and also holds units in Child Development and has received a certification in Kodaly Level 1.

Lisa ThurmanLisa Thurman
Choir Manager

Lisa Thurman holds a degree from California State University, Fresno and comes to us with a strong background in management and administration, as well as a great deal of experience with non-profit organizations. Mrs. Thurman effectively holds the position of Choir Manager and is excited to use her gifts and strengths with the Bach Children's Choir and enjoys building relationships with our families and getting to know all of the choir students and their families.

Rehearsal Assistant

We are grateful to Lydia Bustos who assists us on our Tuesdays evening rehearsals. Not only does she keep things running smoothly with our choristers and parents, but she is also volunteering to assist us. We so appreciate her and the time she gives to the BCC!
